Google Celebrates Roswell 66th Anniversary with Google Doodle!

Publisher's Note: I would like to thank my daughter Anna who made me aware of the special Google Doodle honoring the 66th anniversary of the UFO crash at Roswell,New Mexico, USA. Enjoy this article written by Barney Henderson. Dirk

The black and white interactive Doodle, appears like a video game and allows users to move a friendly alien around as he collects items for his spaceship.

Click here to enlarge top photo.

When the challenge is complete, Google provides the top search terms for "Roswell UFO incident".

On July 8 1947, several witnesses reported seeing flying saucers at Roswell, New Mexico.

Suspicion was fuelled after Roswell Army Air Field (RAAF) public information officer Walter Haut announced in a press release that a "flying disk" had been recovered that had crashed on a ranch near Roswell.

Click here to watch Google Doodle Video!

Witnesses also claimed to have seen alien bodies at the crash site.

The incident soon became largely forgotten until 1978 when physicist and "ufologist" Stanton T. Friedman interviewed Major Jesse Marcel, who had been involved in recovering debris in 1947. Major Marcel claimed that the US government covered up the existence of an alien aircraft.

His claims sparked years of conspiracy theories, which the US government attempted to put to an end with the official 1997 report Case Closed: Final Report on the Roswell Crash..

However, interest in Roswell remains to this day and the Google Doodle celebrating it has certainly captured the imagination, with #Roswell trending on Twitter and people describing it as the "best Doodle ever".

UFO Sightings intensify just prior to Roswell in 1947

Many people by now are well aware that 1947 was a pivotal year in the history of mankind in as much as proof of extraterrestrial contact was made. As a result of that contact an inflexion in human events occurred as an entire security state emerged with the government being forced to conceal and mitigate a forbidden truth that could have caused conventional institutions in our society to collapse. The preservation of basic human beliefs was at stake as far as authorities were concerned.

Yet, few people are aware that there was a growing presence of aerial sightings being reported prior to the Roswell incident in 1947 or the Kenneth Arnold sighting in Washington State. The number of sightings that were attracting public attention were growing to a fever pitch, and the Roswell incident became the culmination of a growing hysteria among people who sensed that something earth shattering was afoot and about to blow open any time.

UFO sighting predates World War I

In Donald Keyhoe's book, “Aliens in Space” he describes an incident recorded in a maritime journal in 1904 where a formation of three airborne lights descended from the night sky and landed on the water with a US Naval ship in close proximity. The sighting was noted by crew members who were on the deck at the time.

Nocturnal lights at Bass Straits and strange things to come

Beginning in the late 1920's an area that would later gain notoriety for two major UFO incidents in the 1970's, the region of Bass Straits between Borneo and Australia began to be a hot spot for numerous nocturnal reports of bright moving lights in the sky. By 1933 an official report had been recorded from eye witness testimony of these unknown airborne objects. Being that Bass Straits was remote and sparsely populated there was little chance that local aviators were making flights in this wilderness region especially at night. Night flying took special training and accreditation, and up until the outbreak of World War II and Australia's desperate defense against the Japanese Imperial Navy, there was little human aerial activity over Bass Straits. Who or what were people reporting in those very early years of human aviation?

Years later in 1978 a news reporter and camera crew aboard an Australian cargo carrier take film foot age of a nocturnal aerial object near Christ Church near the Bass Straits.. In that same year of 1978 Frederick Valentich in his Sierra Delta Juliet flight heading disappears over Bass Straits in his single engine airplane. His taped conversation with air traffic control documents a frightening encounter that leads to Valentich's disappearance never to be seen again.

Creatures in glass tanks?

Mean while in the United States during the same time frame strange developments were materializing as well. Reverend Turner Hamilton Holt was a close friend of Cordell Hull, Secretary of State under President Franklin Roosevelt. Reverend Holt and Cordell Hull grew up in the same county together and knew each other as cousins and friends. They became good buddies in adult life and often had lunch together whenever the Reverend was in Washington DC. They even wrote letters to one another. A family member of Reverend Holt said that before her father died he made sure that his family knew of the following incident so that this information would not be lost.

Sometime around 1939 Reverend Holt was making one of his occasional visits to Washington DC and was scheduled to have lunch with Cordell Hull, as was their routine whenever they saw one another there. After lunch, Cordell Hull, then Secretary of State, invited Turner Hamilton Holt down below the Capital building to a secret sub basement below floors. There the two men came face to face with a spectacle that the Reverend would never forget. Cordell Hull showed him four bodies sealed in large glass jars presumably in formaldehyde to preserve them along with a circular craft of some kind that had been wrecked. The Reverend referred to these entities or aliens as creatures as he did not know how else to describe them. Cordell Hull explained to him that the creatures and the crashed space ship were being kept from the public in order to prevent a panic!

Crash at Cape Girardeau

In 1941 we have another gripping story that predates Roswell around the beginning of Word War II for America. Cape Girardeau, Missouri seems an unlikely place for the crash of a UFO, much less the time frame of the incident, but news of the strange affair was passed down by family members. Apparently Grandfather Reverend William Huffman had been summoned by the police to a crash site. He recalled being driven 10 or 15 miles out into the woods where a crowd of firefighters, FBI, and law enforcement were clustered around a disk shaped vessel and the bodies of 3 dead creatures.

Reverend William Huffman was to give last rites over the dead bodies which he described as small and child-like only with larger heads. He reportedly said that their eyes were very large with only small openings for mouths and ears with little hair on the bodies. Reverend Huffman was sworn to secrecy by the military officers there after performing his Christian duties. However, the stunned Reverend returned home unable to keep the secret and told his wife and daughter about the incredible event. Years later, the Mann family still remembered the details and former intelligence office Leonard Stringfield documented the testimony of the family's account.

The Battle of LA

Just a year later in 1942 a shocking UFO encounter known as the Battle of LA left residents of southern California in utter astonishment after anti aircraft shore batteries went into action against a slow moving unidentified object or objects firing 1400 rounds and making direct hits that seemed to have no observable effects. In the weeks following the Pearl Harbor attack the entire west coast of the United States was on alert for Japanese attack. Many a night jittery civil patrols and nervous shore batteries watched and waited for Japanese aircraft to fly over in attack formation, but what violated southern California air space that mysterious night was not any kind of conventional war plane. People from Riverside to Los Angeles and elsewhere were startled out of their beds as the skies were filled with bursts of color from artillery fire and strange aerial crafts that hovered over the area and seemed impervious to the vicious gunfire unleashed upon them!

In the aftermath of an attack that made the headlines in the newspapers the following day, Supreme Commander General George C. Marshall made a detailed report to President Franklin Roosevelt that many say was simply a cover-up to hide the true serious nature of the violation of US airspace. Marshall's explanation left room for speculation but omitted any admission that an unknown airborne craft appeared untouched by anti aircraft shells as it slowly hovered over the Los Angeles area and then evaded all attempts at interception after ground fire was in action from shore battery artillery.

A dramatic photo that appeared along with the newspaper headlines when studied closely shows shells detonating before they ever make contact with the elliptical object captured in the powerful beams of spot lights as artillery attempts to shoot it down. Perhaps they were using a force field to protect the space craft as they tested the defensive capabilities of man.

Foo Fighters startle war pilots

It is well known that unknown aerial lights and flying objects made themselves well known during World War II in the skies over Europe and the Pacific Ocean. As the Allied forces battled the Germans to liberate France on the long road back to Berlin, bomber crews were startled when unknown aerial lights paced their formations after dropping their bomb loads and heading back to their bases. More than one B-17 crew panicked after being followed by a Foo Fighter thinking they were a German invention.

General Douglas MacArthur reacts

As the Pacific Fleet battled the Japanese along the long and bloody island hopping campaign to end the war, Foo Fighters made their ubiquitous presence known. As Armadas of US naval ships slugged it out with the Japanese Imperial Fleet, observers watched formations of unknown airborne objects serenely overflying vicious fire fights unscathed. These bizarre incidents necessitated General Douglas MacArthur's orders to form the Interplanetary Phenomenon Unit, probably the first military intelligence organization to ever investigate UFO's. The IPU continued it's work until the end of the war and their findings were hidden under classified status.

In the weeks prior to the end of World War II and just after the atomic test blast at the Trinity site in New, Mexico, the sketchy account of a dull metallic craft leaving a huge debris field out in the desert in 1945 is recalled by two men who were just kids at the time. Guided by smoke in the sky right after a late summer thunder storm, the two young boys spotted a dull metallic object that had left a huge gouge in the soil, but details are scarce as a visit to the site the next day reveals that the entire debris field had been covered up. Vanished!

The William Rhodes controversy

Just a few days before the reported crash of a disk 75 miles north of Roswell, New Mexico came the photo of a sighting made by William Rhodes in Phoenix, Arizona. The photos look much like the classic black triangles we see with some degree of frequency today with the exception of the nose of the strange dark craft which is blunt or rounded instead of being a sharp tip. Remember that many accounts of the flying disk recovered near Roswell are that it was bat winged in shape. William Rhodes was investigated by the CIC along with his photos. The Air Force subjected the Rhodes photos to long hours of testing to substantiate their authenticity. The photos were published in two versions. One showing the relationship of the unknown object to trees and a hilltop and the other shows only the UFO itself in the sky.

On July 9, 1947 the Arizona Republic daily news published 2 cropped versions of the originals taken by Rhodes on July seventh. The photos are said to be controversial since Rhodes was a suspected hoaxer, yet the Air Force took the photos very seriously as did the Counter Intelligence Corps. What tends to corroborate their authenticity is the reported observations by witnesses in New Mexico and later Arizona following the alleged Kingman, AZ crash and the subsequent other reported crashes. Witnesses did not report disks so much as they described crescent shaped objects varying in color from dull metallic to black.

Project Blue Book reviewed the case and the photos submitted by William Rhodes years later. One comment made by an Air Force officer on the quality of the investigations and records kept by Project Grudge, a precursor to Project Blue Book was that files were very incomplete, undated, and unprofessionally kept. William Rhodes claimed that federal agents took his original photos and one negative and never returned them. Rhodes told Project Blue Book officers he could not find the other remaining negative though several prints had been made by the newspapers and the Air Force.

What were they waiting for?

In the weeks before the Roswell Crash, the US Army Air Force made sure that their radar stations were kept on full alert through out the southwest. One radar officer said that he was forced to line up a series of mirrors so that he could still keep an eye on his radar screen even when he had to use the bathroom. This demonstrates the strict suspicion by high command that there were unknown aircraft violating US air space at the time, and quite possibly, an event was expected to happen. Could Rhodes have made the first initial sighting that US armed forces had remained on alert over?

There are other allegations of a crash and other vague allegations of other sightings, but the above events constitute the best known sightings that predate Roswell containing detailed information. At times new details emerge as previously hidden or undisturbed evidence is uncovered, but who can predict when or where.

Once again our trek across the forbidden grounds of the UFO mystery has come to an end until next time.

Did H.G. Wells Predict Roswell Crash and UFO Disclosure?

It's ironic that UFO sightings are surging just at a time the British Ministry of Defence is closing its UFO hotline. While the Vatican, in no less than five public statements, recently declared the alien phenomena to be real, while the U.N. holds not so secret meetings on the subject, while investigative organizations like MUFON are receiving the highest level of UFO sightings ever, while the Canadian former Minister of Defence, Paul Hellyer proclaims the U.S. is hiding UFO encounters, the official stamp is "silence," on the subject. So it is a good time to reflect on the "father of awareness of the alien encounter," H.G. Wells.

Wells' visions were astounding and the accuracy of his predictions are even more magnificent. Wells was a British writer (1866-1946) who, through his writing, foresaw world war, modern mechanized artillery, the use of poison gas as a weapon and the fall of the British Empire. But UFO enthusiasts and believers might be more interested to reflect on an important aspect of Wells' work. That Wells' writings were the first step to wake up the world that we are not alone. In his novel, The War Of The Worlds, Wells wrote of the crashing down of an alien craft from another world and the revelation to humanity that we do not run the universe.

He introduced poison black gas as a deadly weapon as later used in WW1, heat-rays, like the microwave super weapons quietly in use now. He described the aliens as being of a different composition than us and with different tolerances to gravity, atmosphere, sunlight and bacteria, much like scientist are discussing now in relation to the discovery of exoplanets and their possible life forms. Virtually all he predicted has come true. The dark but necessary question is, what about his visions of alien invasion?

His book has been made into movies and radio plays many times but has always been altered to virtually unrecognizable. Now a new movie, War OF The Worlds The True Story, takes the unique approach to Wells' first ever alien contact premise and treats the material as if it actually happened in the year 1900. The movie is presented as a straight up war docudrama -- a war docudrama between Earth and invading aliens. War OF The Worlds The True Story has just been released on DVD and internet On Demand streaming rental to glowing reviews.

Ain't It Cool News said of War Of The Worlds The True Story, "Highly recommended." The Los Angeles Times said, "'War Of The Worlds The True Story' is clever like Wells. Hugely inventive and ambitious."

The Hollywood Reporter called the movie, "Impressive." You Won Cannes said, "Ever since the 1953 movie adaptation of War Of The Worlds there have been numerous other translations of Wells' novel, even a 1988 short lived TV series, but of all the ones I have seen the only two-yes, only two-I find worthy of repeated viewings is the '53 film and this new 2013 docudrama." Steven Rose Jr. of the Sacramento Examiner gave the movie 5 out of 5 stars and said, "'The True Story' carries the suspense and drama of both the 1953 movie and Spielberg's 2005 version but in a more realistic manner through its documentary style."

Without Wells' visionary idea, who knows how long it would have been before we awakened to the possibility, and now the likelihood, that we are not alone? War Of The Worlds The True Story is rentable right from the Facebook Fanpage: http://www.facebook.com/waroftheworldsthetruestory. The movie is on DVD with special features and extras through the War Of The Worlds The True Story official websitehttp://www.waroftheworldsthetruestory.com and can be rented in online streaming through Vimeo as well. War Of The Worlds The True Story is coming to Amazon later in July.

Ireland Claims UFO Sighting 5 Days After Roswell - Blarney!

Publisher's Note: With the world celebrating the 66th anniversary of the Roswell Incident Irish news people have discovered another UFO incident only 5 days after Roswell! It is blarney or is it real.

by IrishCentral Columnists

An interesting piece of Irish curio was unearthed by the Irish blog Broadsheet this week in the shape of an Irish Times clipping from July 12, 1947. The clipping’s headline reads:

“Flying Saucer Seen in County Kerry”

Now an international hobby, UFOs and flying saucers are spotted on a daily basis around the globe and the existence of aliens is debated across the Internet but what is curious about this report is that it was published three days after the Roswell UFO Incident.

The sighting at Cahirciveen, County Kerry, was seen by five witnesses who saw a spinning disc traveling at speed through the air.

The Roswell Incident took place in Roswell, New Mexico on July 7, 1947 when an airborne object crashed near a ranch. The crash was attributed to a United States military surveillance balloon but the most famous explanation is that a spacecraft carrying extraterrestrial life crashed.

Maybe the rest of the flock of space ships traveled on for a quick spin in Ireland?

Roswell UFO Crash : Spaceship Was Of Alien Origin And There Were ET Cadavers Says Ex-CIA Agent

Roswell UFO Crash : Spaceship Was Of Alien Origin And There Were ET Cadavers Says Ex-CIA Agent In past we had reported:

Roswell UFO: Former Air Force Officer Says Gen. Ramey Lied To Cover Up Alien Space Ship Crash

US Army Soldier "I Saw Live Roswell Alien" In Camp Wallace, Virginia, US : Deathbed Confession

FBI "The Vault" Reveals Roswell and Majestic 12 Documents

65 years ago the Roswell Daily Record blasted an infamous headline claiming local military officials had captured a flying saucer on a nearby ranch. And now, a former CIA agent says it really happened.

"It was not a damn weather balloon -- it was what it was billed when people first reported it," said Chase Brandon, a 35-year CIA veteran. "It was a craft that clearly did not come from this planet, it crashed and I don't doubt for a second that the use of the word 'remains' and 'cadavers' was exactly what people were talking about."

Brandon served as an undercover, covert operations officer in the agency's Clandestine Service for 25 years, where he was assigned missions in international terrorism, counterinsurgency, global narcotics trafficking and weapons smuggling. He spent his final 10 years of CIA service on the director's staff as the agency's first official liaison to the entertainment and publication industries. It was during this time, in the mid-1990s, that he walked into a special section of CIA headquarters in Langley, Va., called the Historical Intelligence Collection.

"It was a vaulted area and not everybody could get in it," Brandon told The Huffington Post. "One day, I was looking around in there and reading some of the titles that were mostly hand-scribbled summations of what was in the boxes. And there was one box that really caught my eye. It had one word on it: Roswell.

"I took the box down, lifted the lid up, rummaged around inside it, put the box back on the shelf and said, 'My god, it really happened!'"

What exactly did the box contain that had such a powerful impact on Brandon?

"Some written material and some photographs, and that's all I will ever say to anybody about the contents of that box," he said. "But it absolutely, for me, was the single validating moment that everything I had believed, and knew that so many other people believed had happened, truly was what occurred,".

Europe's Roswell UFO Crash - Aberystwyth UFO

On a dark winter's night in January 1983, the sleepy Welsh village of Llanilar near Aberystwyth was buzzed by a strange flying craft, which hit trees, scattered shiny metal debris over four fields and flew off apparently unaffected. One farmer witnessed the debris and clean up operation; one national newspaper carried the story; one civilian investigation team made it to the site; one collection of strange metallic debris remains. Witness for the first time ever in graphic detail genuine pieces of a crashed UFO.Mark Olly is an author, musician, historian, archeologist and lecturer. Best known for writing and presenting the ITV Granada/Sky History Channel's popular television series "Lost Treasures." Here he presents this first investigation in a series of internationally important hidden mysteries.

May we never forget Roswell - the most important Ufo case of all time

[Image]Still to this day the testimony of Major Jesse Marcel (the first person to see the wreckage of the alleged roswell crash) is highly important. Marcel was the head atomic intelligence officer for the base. His final interview testimony that the weather ballon story was a lie was highly important.
The government hopes that with time and the passing of most of the witnesses of the incident that this story remains forgotten for good. However the legend of Roswell and the deathbed testimonials of threats from the military from family members and staff that worked on the incident still remind us that Roswell was indeed the recovery of a craft not from this world. This event must not be forgotten and should be studied by future generations to come.
The first atomic nuclear test, the Trinity test occured on US soil in 1945 whitesands New mexico. The Roswell incident occured in July 1947. Ufologists believed that the first 'flying disks' sightings occurred in the late 40's, and have risen ever since then - so was it ET monitoring of our involvement in nuclear testing that lead to the incident?
Also was it no coincidence that months after the incident that the CIA was formed, in September 18, 1947? With the help of the CIA, if the government has been able to keep the Roswell incident a secret for almost 65 years then the question arises what else have they kept from us?.
From the late 90's and onwards new witness testimonials have come forward from many elderly people who were either at the incident or had family memebers that were involved were someway. Common amoung the testimonials was the severity of the threats from the military about keeping what happened confidential, including death threats.
Your welcome to read more testimonials here or see the video testimonials here
Major Jesse Marcel's final interview confession:
Jessie Marcel Junior talks about his dad:

You can also watch the testimonials here Military threats about Roswell :

I highly encourage? everyone to read Jesse's book, ROSWELL LEGACY. It's very interesting. . He provides documented proof of his dad's military education, including Rawin radar targets. The world has waited a long time for the inside scoop on Roswell. Truth is an excellent curative for false proclamations. The Roswell crashed saucer retrieval is one of the most important UFO cases ever, anywhere. We need more information from those directly involved, and this book provides a good deal of important new material. - Stanton T. Friedman[Image]

2009 Roswell UFO Festival - A Family Fun Vacation

Going to New Mexico

When I told friends on the east coast I was moving to New Mexico, they all wanted to know why I would want to move out of the country. I tried to explain that New Mexico was part of the United States. I discovered that people on the east coast had a geographical learning block, there is nothing past the Mississippi River except Los Vegas and California. Some knew of Taos and Vail, but the exact location of these fabled ski areas was not to be disclosed.

I was told I was moving to the desert. I packed accordingly and moved myself, my daughter and my cat to New Mexico. We flew out with the majority of our clothing and furnishings scheduled to arrive after we found a home. We arrived in Lubbock, TX in January. The cat's flight was an hour late. Once he arrived we went to rent a car to continue our adventure.

"I don't think we can rent you a car tonight", the guy behind the counter said. "It's snowing pretty good out there." After 12 hours of airports, this was not what I wanted to hear. I had reservations in another town 100 miles away. (Wait, did he say snow?! It doesn't snow in the desert, does it? Note to self: deal with that later.)

"Look", I said, "I can drive in the snow, I have driven plenty of times in the snow." "I don't know", he said, "It can get pretty icy on the overpasses." "So, if it gets too bad, I'll just stay at some motel", I told him. This brought a look of consternation to the man's face. He called over the other guy behind the counter. They had a quiet discussion and turned back to me. "There aren't any motels between here and there", he said.

This was when I knew I had arrived in the Twilight Zone. Coming from New Jersey, I could not imagine 100 miles of highway and no place to stay! "What do you mean, no place between here and there...surely there must be something", I said. They looked at each other nervously and looked back at me shaking their heads no. "No, nothing, there was one place, but it's closed now", the one said, a little hesitantly. I could see they were wondering who was this crazy lady, with the little girl and the cat in a box going meow, meow, meow. How long before she snapped...

"Look, just rent me the car!" I snapped at them, fed up and tired, and wondering how these idiots ever got a job. Surely there was some place to stay. I probably scared them, but I got the car and set out.

Four hours and 100 miles later, I was wondering what I had gotten myself into. The guys at the airport had been right, there was nothing between there and here but one McDonald's. Never had I experienced so much dark, dark empty space. Where were the street lights, where were the towns...and why was it snowing!

New Mexico

I later found out that I was on the llano estacado, or high plains, of New Mexico. Winter was in full swing and the wind never stopped blowing. I bought coats for myself and my daughter and we settled in to wait for spring.

Finally, spring arrived and summer soon followed. I went to rodeos, parades and fairs, but the best was the UFO Festival in Roswell, NM! The UFO Festival is held each year in Roswell, NM the first week of July to commemorate the alien crash landing of 1947.

First Stop the UFO Museum

First stop has to be the Roswell UFO Museum! The museum opened to visitors in the fall of 1992 and became an immediate favorite for UFO believers, non-believer and the just plain curious. They are currently in their 4th location and continue to grow.

The museum covers many famous UFO related occurrences, crop circles, Area 51, UFO sightings, alien abductions and, of course, the incident that occurred in Roswell in 1947. The official name of the museum is the "International UFO Museum and Research Center".

Admission is $5 for adults, $2 for ages 5 to15, and free for those age 4 and under. Military and Seniors, 65 and older, pay $3. This is a real deal!

The museum has a nice gift shop with tons of alien and UFO related items. It also has a nice selection of books and DVDs. The shop has everything from Christmas ornaments to gourmet items. You'll never be able to pass up the cookie cutters of an alien body, a spaceship and an alien head! The kids will love the Toxic Waste candy.

Don't like the selection at the gift shop? Just stroll down Main Street amongst the aliens to see one of Roswell's other great shops. Alien Zone, Planet Roswell and Roswell Alien Corner are a few of the favorites. The kids will want to go to the spaceship shaped McDonald's with their out of this world play-place. They will get to see Ronald in a spacesuit!

UFO Festival's Main Events

The Roswell UFO Festival for 2009 is scheduled for July 2nd through July 5th. My favorite part is the Alien Costume Contest. It is incredible how much planning must go into these costumes! People dress up their entire families, including the babies.

Pets are not forgotten either. The Pet Alien Contest is hilarious! I do not know how they get these animals to stay in costume. There are dyed dogs, tin-foiled tortoises, even ferrets get into this mix!

The Parade down Main Street always draws a large crowd of people mixed with various creatures from outer space. Cheers and laughter erupt as the space ships float down the road. This event is celebrated by all creatures in the universe as a time to mingle and coexist peacefully!

Of course there is a fireworks display on July 4th. It is quite spectacular, but not as spectacular as the people you meet!

The best part is the camaraderie, the fun, the laughter. You'll have to see it to believe how well humans and aliens get along! Shame on all those stories of evil abductions, these sweet creatures would never. (OK, well maybe that one over there...) This is three days of fun and out of this world sights!

The Lecture Series

I almost forgot to mention the lecture series. 2009 brings you "Ancient of Days Christian Symposium on Aliens". This is the line up for July 3, 2009:

Lynn Marzulli, D Min - "The UFO Phenomena is Real, Burgeoning, and Not Going Away"
Michael S Heiser, PhD - "Why an Extra-Terrestrial God Appeals to Today's Culture"
William Alnor, PhD - "Aliens & Demonology: A Study Throughout History and Scripture"

Go to their website to see the entire 2009 line-up. I have too much fun out in the open, but many people enjoy the lectures. (And the opportunity to get out of the New Mexico heat!) The lectures are free, but seating is usually limited.

Family Fun For Everyone

If you are looking for something fun and different to do for this year's vacation look into the UFO festival.  The entire family will have fun and laughter will rule the day.  While in New Mexico be sure to go to Carlsbad Caverns and White Sands.  These are both within driving distance of Roswell and make excellent day trips.
