FBI Tries To Debunk UFO Files But Goes Selective

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has broken its silence on the most popular file in its digital vault.

The one-page memo, dated March 22, 1950, was addressed to FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover from Guy Hottel, then head of the FBI's Washington, D.C., field office. It relayed some information from an informant.

"An investigator for the Air Force stated that three so-called flying saucers had been recovered in New Mexico," Hottel writes. "They were described as being circular in shape with raised centers, approximately 50 feet in diameter. Each one was occupied by three bodies of human shape but only 3 feet tall, dressed in metallic cloth of a very fine texture. Each body was bandaged in a manner similar to the blackout suits used by speed fliers and test pilots.”

No further evaluation was attempted, Hottel reports.

The file, released in April 2011 under the Freedom of Information Act, has been viewed nearly a million times, the FBI said, in part because media outlets "erroneously reported that the FBI had posted proof of a UFO crash at Roswell, New Mexico [in 1947] and the recovery of wreckage and alien corpses."

"A bizarre memo that appears to prove that aliens did land in New Mexico prior to 1950 has been published by the FBI," the UFO-Blogger.com declared in 2011.

"The Hottel memo does not prove the existence of UFOs," the bureau said in a blog post on its website this week. "It is simply a second- or third-hand claim that we never investigated."

Besides, the FBI notes, the Hottel memo is dated nearly three years after the infamous events in Roswell in July 1947.

"There is no reason to believe the two are connected," the bureau said.

Home » Solar Storm » NASA Warning : Massive Solar Storms May Peak This Year In another latest development, the sun is surprisingly quiet at the moment, but that may be because our star is gearing up for the second phase of a one-two wallop in its 11-year activity cycle, some scientists say.

The sun has slumped to its present lull from a very fiery 2011, seeming to contradict a widely predicted 2013 peak in solar flares, sunspots and other activity for the current Solar Cycle 24. But the forecasts may be right after all, said solar physicist Dean Pesnell, of NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Md

"This is solar maximum," Pesnell, project scientist for NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory spacecraft, said in a statement. "But it looks different from what we expected because it is double-peaked."

Though the sun's activity cycle is often regarded as a smooth bell curve, proceeding from low to high and then back down to low again, twin peaks are apparently not too uncommon. The last two solar maxima — which occurred in 1989 and 2001 — were doubled-peaked, exhibiting mini-cycles that lasted about two years, Pesnell added.

So the 2011 surge may just have been part one of Solar Cycle 24's fireworks display.

"I am comfortable in saying that another peak will happen in 2013 and possibly last into 2014," Pesnell said.

If a second peak does occur in 2013, activity in the sun's southern half might be the main driver. Our star's northern and southern hemispheres sometimes peak at different times, researchers said, and the south has been significantly quieter than the north thus far in Solar Cycle 24.

Pesnell is a member of the Solar Cycle Prediction Panel, a group of solar physicists who gathered in 2006 and 2008 to forecast the next solar maximum. Weaving together a number of lines of evidence, including Solar Cycle 24's very deep minimum five or so years ago, the group made the following prediction:

"The panel has decided that the next solar cycle (Cycle 24) will be below average in intensity, with a maximum sunspot number of 90. Given the date of solar minimum and the predicted maximum intensity, solar maximum is now expected to occur in May 2013."

UFO Drone : Pilot Reports Unidentified Flying Object Over JFK Airport

The pilot of a commercial jetliner spotted a drone aircraft hovering near his plane as he landed at JFK Airport on March 6, 2013, according to sources.

The Joint Terror Task Force is now probing the sighting of the mysterious flying object, the sources said.

The Alitalia pilot spotted the unmanned craft — described as "a black drone" — hovering just 200 feet from his jet about three miles east of the airport as he made his approach from Brooklyn.

"He was very clear as to what he saw," a source said.

The pilot told investigators the object was flying at about 1,800 feet and looked like "a black drone about a meter square, with helicopter rotors on the corners."

An object is observed moving from south to north with altitude under 1000 feet.The object is post edited with zoom for the night vision portion and reveals there is separation/space between fore and aft lights and no visible structure associated.Three types of equipment were attempted to document. The Night Vision Gen 3P, the Hi8 and Celestron spotting scope with nex 5 camera.Unfortunately the object couldn't be located through the spotting scope before it moves behind the trees. Therefore only the night-vision and Hi8 portions were utilized for the clip.

NASA : Life Existed On Mars

WASHINGTON -- An analysis of a rock sample collected by NASA's Curiosity rover shows ancient Mars could have supported living microbes.

Scientists identified sulfur, nitrogen, hydrogen, oxygen, phosphorus and carbon -- some of the key chemical ingredients for life -- in the powder Curiosity drilled out of a sedimentary rock near an ancient stream bed in Gale Crater on the Red Planet last month.

"A fundamental question for this mission is whether Mars could have supported a habitable environment," said Michael Meyer, lead scientist for NASA's Mars Exploration Program at the agency's headquarters in Washington. "From what we know now, the answer is yes."

"We have characterized a very ancient, but strangely new 'gray Mars' where conditions once were favorable for life," said John Grotzinger, Mars Science Laboratory project scientist at the California Institute of Technology in Pasadena, Calif. "Curiosity is on a mission of discovery and exploration, and as a team we feel there are many more exciting discoveries ahead of us in the months and years to come."

Scientists plan to work with Curiosity in the Yellowknife Bay area for many more weeks before beginning a long drive to Gale Crater's central mound, Mount Sharp. Investigating the stack of layers exposed on Mount Sharp, where clay minerals and sulfate minerals have been identified from orbit, may add information about the duration and diversity of habitable conditions.

NASA's Mars Science Laboratory Project has been using Curiosity to investigate whether an area within Mars' Gale Crater ever has offered an environment favorable for microbial life. Curiosity, carrying 10 science instruments, landed seven months ago to begin its two-year prime mission. NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, Calif., manages the project for NASA's Science Mission Directorate in Washington.

Aseel Badiyan said he was using his camera to take shots of the mountains, nearly 90 km from the capital Sanaa, when the object shot across his lens.

Commenting on the photograph, a well-known Saudi astronomer said he had checked the picture and found that it was authentic.

“I have surfed the internet for similar sightings worldwide and found that the picture I captured is the clearest so far…I believe that those who are behind such objects are advanced people who possess a very intelligent civilization,” Badiyan told Saudi and Yemeni newspapers.

Quoted by the Saudi Arabic language daily Ajel, deputy chairman of the Saudi astronomy association, Sharaf Al Sifyati, said:”There is no doubt that we are not alone in this spacious universe and that there are other creatures which only God knows.”

He added:”When this Yemeni photographer contacted me and showed me that picture, I felt that he was telling the truth..I checked the picture and found that is authentic and does not involve any tricks or tampering….as for that object, I believe it is strange and unfamiliar but I am not sure it is a space object because these phenomena remain a possibility rather than a reality…I think this incident has to be fully investigated.

UFO News : Pilot Baffled By Object In Sky Over Port Aransas Airport, Texas, USA

What the heck is that? That's what pilot Eddie Miles wants to know, and, frankly, so do we!

Miles, 41, of San Antonio, said on March 17, 2013 he flew to Port Aransas to spend the day walking the beach.

"My passenger took it on Sunday as we made our final approach," he said.

But they never actually saw the object from the cockpit of their Cessna. His passenger was simply snapping photos of their landing and they never noticed the strange streak until they were flipping through the photos at a nearby restaurant.

The object only appeared in one of the photos.

"Somebody told me it might have been moving at a speed only the camera shutter could catch," he said.

Large Asteroid Heading To Earth? "Pray", Says NASA

NASA chief Charles Bolden has advice on how to handle a large asteroid headed toward New York City: Pray.
That's about all the United States - or anyone for that matter - could do at this point about unknown asteroids and meteors that may be on a collision course with Earth, Bolden told lawmakers at a U.S. House of Representatives Science Committee hearing on Tuesday.

An asteroid estimated to be have been about 55 feet in diameter exploded on February 15 over Chelyabinsk, Russia, generating shock waves that shattered windows and damaged buildings. More than 1,500 people were injured.

Later that day, a larger, unrelated asteroid discovered last year passed about 17,200 miles from Earth, closer than the network of television and weather satellites that ring the planet.

The events "serve as evidence that we live in an active solar system with potentially hazardous objects passing through our neighborhood with surprising frequency," said Representative Eddie Bernice Johnson, a Texas Democrat.

"We were fortunate that the events of last month were simply an interesting coincidence rather than a catastrophe," said Committee Chairman Lamar Smith, a Texas Republican, who called the hearing to learn what is being done and how much money is needed to better protect the planet.

NASA has found and is tracking about 95 percent of the largest objects flying near Earth, those that are .62 miles or larger in diameter.

"An asteroid of that size, a kilometer or bigger, could plausibly end civilization," White House science advisor John Holdren told legislators at the same hearing.

But only about 10 percent of an estimated 10,000 potential "city-killer" asteroids, those with a diameter of about 165 feet have been found, Holdren added.

On average, objects of that size are estimated to hit Earth about once every 1,000 years.

"From the information we have, we don't know of an asteroid that will threaten the population of the United States," Bolden said. "But if it's coming in three weeks, pray."

In addition to stepping up its monitoring efforts and building international partnerships, NASA is looking at developing technologies to divert an object that may be on a collision course with Earth.

"The odds of a near-Earth object strike causing massive casualties and destruction of infrastructure are very small, but the potential consequences of such an event are so large it makes sense to takes the risk seriously," Holdren said.

About 66 million years ago, an object 6 miles in diameter is believed to have smashed into what is now the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico, leading to the demise of the dinosaurs, as well as most plant and animal life on Earth.

The asteroid that exploded over Russia last month was the largest object to hit Earth's atmosphere since the 1908 Tunguska event when an asteroid or comet exploded over Siberia, leveling 80 million trees over more than 830 square miles (2,150 sq km).

These craft´s don´t show up on normal radar software like for example "flightradar24" nor on webtrak, they are violating altitude laws frequently and nobody seems to care not even (UFO-Sverige), they don´t seem to behave or look like normal airplanes. 

Some of these crafts occasionally blink and this might be because that they are either trying to alter their shape to mimic our airplane technology (in order to pass for airplanes) or some of them might belong to foreign countries secret military technology.

Most of the time the crafts do not seem to have a solid shape and mostly resembles glowing orbs or lights with a strong pulse that frequently changes their color spectrum. For years this behavior has been going on yet the Swedish media refuses to address it, if they do they only make fun of this phenomena and call in the "UFO-experts" who debunk everything as usual.

Alien Life Form Found in Antarctic Lake

It looks like drilling through 2.3 miles of ice may have paid off: The Russian scientists who did just that last year at Antarctica's Lake Vostok say the samples they recovered contain an "unclassified and unidentified" life form, reports the BBC.The bacteria's DNA measured less than 86% similar to that of previously existing life forms—which the team's leader explains is "basically zero" when it comes to DNA. "A level of 90% usually means that the organism is unknown." "If this had been found on Mars everyone would have undoubtedly said there is life on Mars," continued the scientist, who says fresh samples will be retrieved from the subglacial lake in May. "But this is bacteria from Earth." Lake Vostok is so oxygen-rich—about 50 times more so than freshwater lakes—that any microbes living in it must have evolved special adaptations to survive there, notes the Daily Galaxy.

From the angle of the shot made by jn1 AKA "Jewish News One", it looks like he shape-shifted and his human face was just gone. There’s no (edited) way that physical transformation could have been an image glitch.

UFO Filmed Over Virginia By D.C - Denver Flight Passenger

According to eyewitness testimonial, while on a flight from Washington, D.C. to Denver Colorado I caught a UFO on video just after using "Yukon" the Caribou to focus my video camera.

The UFO shows up suddenly at about 0:33 on the right, then disappears suddenly after I zoom back out. The flight was bumpy so I couldn't keep the UFO in view when zoomed in.

This would have been somewhere over Virginia, about 10 minutes after takeoff.

Cannibalistic Galaxies

Just as with life on Earth, scientists are finding out some galaxies are predators and “eat” other galaxies. The biggest predators are the largest, most massive kind of galaxy called the Elliptical Galaxy. Each Elliptical Galaxy contains several trillion stars, according to latest estimates.

Of course we immediately assume that galaxies have no real consciousness like a tiger does, so these huge Elliptical Predators do not really eat each; we assume galaxies merely collide due to being pulled together by gravitational forces. This might well be true but new discoveries lead toward the existence of quantum fields of energy weaving and threading throughout the universe – and where there is a quantum morphic field, the possibility of consciousness cannot be ignored. The electromagnetic circuitry in our minds is simply the quantum field inside our head, but this quantum field also stretches outside, probably to infinity.

Be that as it may, cannibalistic galaxies are amazing! They are the products of all the collisions and mergers of previous generations of galaxies; perhaps a huge Elliptical Galaxy has been involved in hundreds of cannibalistic collisions with the larger “guy” winning each time. These massive Elliptical Galaxies grow over billions of years by devouring much smaller galaxies, thus insuring their own survival.

When a small galaxy is sucked into a larger one, the smaller galaxy is ripped apart by gravity from the larger galaxy. Stars from the smaller galaxy remain near the outskirts – not the center – of the larger galaxy. However, if you have two roughly comparable galaxies, they seem to do a dance; however, they are on a collision course, each one penetrating more toward the center of the other, so more stars end up in the center.

Galaxies are getting more concentrated in their mass over time even though they are getting less concentrated in the light they emit. Large galaxy collisions explain the growing mass concentration, while galaxies gobbling smaller galaxies explain more starlight away from galactic centers. Both processes are apparently important to explain the overall balance of the universe. The way the starlight evolves cannot be explained only by the big collisions. Both kinds of collisions, major and minor – a few big ones and a lot of small ones – are needed.

To stop and comprehend the implications is to realize that there is a force in the universe for balance, be it in the ecosystems of jungles, meadows, or deserts or be it out in the universe. Is consciousness  at work in the universal ecosystem e as well as in the jungle ecosystem?  Is intelligence somehow in-built into predator galaxies as well as tigers?

Let’s take a look at our closest neighbor galaxy, Andromeda.  From Earth, the Andromeda Galaxy looks like a calm, peaceful galaxy, and is visible with the naked eye in our night sky. However, astronomers have discovered things aren’t as tranquil as it seems.  Andromeda is eating its neighbors as fast as it can.

The Andromeda Galaxy contains a trillion stars and lies only about 2.5 million light-years away, so it is relatively easy to observe with our new high powered telescopes, some of them orbiting Earth. Astronomers have observed wispy streams of stars on the outer fringes of Andromeda, and realize they were leftovers from Andromeda’s cannibalistic feeding frenzy of smaller galaxies “recently” digested in the last billion or two billion years. Andromeda is assuring itself a future – it will not be eaten! Survival!

The galaxy’s cannibalism continues today and another victim lies in wait: M33 in the constellation of Triangulum, is destined for a future meal.  “Ultimately, these two galaxies may end up merging completely,” says Dr. Scott from the University of Cambridge. “Ironically, galaxy formation and galaxy destruction seem to go hand in hand.” So it is on Earth because the predators keep the populations of prey (mostly herbivores), in balance. Balance above, balance below!

Our home - the Milky Way Galaxy - is also eating smaller galaxies, such as Canis Major Dwarf Galaxy and probably the Magellanic Clouds as well. The Virgo Stellar Stream is thought to be the remains of a dwarf galaxy which the Milky Way recently gobbled down.

The Milky Way and Andromeda will collide in about 4.5 billion years. Neither is yet big enough to be considered in the largest class of galaxies, but when one eats the other, the result will be a grand Elliptical Galaxy. Like two tigers fighting in the jungle, who will win? Bets are on Andromeda. I suppose we are all someone else’s idea of a good meal.

The Many Worlds And Other Dimensions Of Oscar Magocsi, UFO Contactee Extraordinaire - Part II

The monks began to chant and burn incense while they scrutinized Magocsi. He fell asleep, and when he awakened he saw the head monk, an old man, seated opposite him.

“And as I was looking at him,” Magocsi said, “he was rising up from his chair – levitating. Then the whole area just opened up so that I could see the whole valley and the saucer hovering nearby, with its orange glow.”

AROUND THE WORLD IN 23 HOURS

Magocsi next recalled that he was standing with the head monk again on a balcony or terrace in extreme cold. After this dreamlike moment, he was escorted back to the saucer, which lifted up and flew him this time to South America, where it seemed someone was shooting green lightning bolts at the ship. From there, the next destination was Northern California, specifically a place Magocsi thought must have been Mount Shasta. He could see three campfires below him, with men seated around the campfires, soon after which the ship discharged some form of energy into the mountain’s peak. Mount Shasta has for centuries been known as the scene of many a UFO sighting and numerous other paranormal events, so it is a fitting place for Magocsi to end his trip around the world onboard a flying saucer.

After leaving Mount Shasta, Magocsi was returned to the same spot where he was originally picked up.

“The entire experience lasted 23 hours,” he said. “Insofar as being tired from the trip is concerned, I was. And insofar as the food, I found a cubicle which I managed to open and found storage-cubes, condensed food. And I found water. That was my first trip. I was happy after that. So, a few days later, the saucer comes again to the same spot and lands, and I got into it and went on another trip.”

This time, the trip would not be a journey around the physical planet as know it. Magocsi called this second trip an “inter-dimensional” one, though he was still required to put on a silvery “spacesuit,” similar to a skin diver’s outfit, with a wide belt and something resembling a motorcycle helmet. The ship hovered for a short time over Lake Ontario then suddenly Magocsi was in deep space, which he also felt was in another parallel dimension. He still had not met anyone onboard the craft.

He recalled being told by someone he had met at the Psychic Fair the previous winter that, “They are from another dimension altogether. They accidentally stumbled onto ours, and there are quite a number of other dimensions that are interconnected.” The person at the fair claimed to be a “psychician” and a member of the Psychician Federation of Worlds.

Examining possible UFO landing area

After fading back into Earth’s dimension, the ship entered a vortex and came to a place where a mother ship sat waiting with seven smaller ships nearby, which Magocsi called “baby ships.” A door opened and he walked out into an idyllic scene similar to a rock garden or pleasant jungle area, a space intended for recreation. He surmised that there were other people there who had also been brought by one of the other smaller ships, and that they were supposed to “seek each other out.”

Magocsi found himself on a planet called Argona, a member of the Psychician Federation of Worlds. He came to a reception area where he met human-looking people, including the cab driver who had taken him to the Psychic Fair instead of to the movies, as Magocsi had intended. The cab driver became Magocsi’s host, taking him on a tour of the city and the surrounding countryside.       

 The city was built inside a domed area and had structures similar to earthly skyscrapers. The entire planet was a recreation center and was populated by thousands of people of varying skin colors and wearing different style clothes. Some of them facially resembled a cat or dog and spoke a language similar to a Chinese kind of singsong.

People from various dimensions were there on a common mission: to be trained in Earth mannerisms, languages and cultures so they could go to Earth and carry out some purpose that required them to pass for normal human beings.

“They had common names like George or Joe,” Magocsi said, “and were said to be from Japan or China. One woman said she was from New York City, but in reality she had never even been to Earth before. Before she was set to come to Earth, she knew already all the mannerisms, even played the piano.

“It’s not very likely that any of these people would ever be detected,” he continued, “except by psychic means. But they looked much nicer, more handsome than we are. They looked more intelligent. There were subtle things about them. Small things. It’s very likely that this girl I met there, who knew New York – she called herself Melody – she could be here right now. She was a gorgeous looking redhead. And she sings.”

THEIR REASON FOR BEING HERE

Magocsi said the influx of human-looking aliens is intended to help us overcome the psychic contamination of our atmosphere, a contamination that could lead to nuclear war and the complete destruction of life on Earth.

“It seems they are greatly concerned,” he said. “They wouldn’t stop us from wiping ourselves out. That’s a no-no. If we want to blow ourselves up, that’s fine. But should that happen, they are willing to rescue quite a few people from here. Selections will be done through aura. They have aura detectors. They’re interested in what kind of an attitude you have socially, spiritually, psychically.”

The lucky chosen ones would be taken on “space arks” to an artificial planet already prepared to house the survivors. Magocsi has no idea how many would be saved, but that an effort to educate some portion of the world to the situation has been underway for a long time. He feels he was chosen by the aliens because they were seeking an “Average Joe,” a typical human specimen, in order to test how he feels about things, how he reacts to various situations.

After undergoing intensive testing on Argona, Magocsi concluded that the aliens are advanced millions of years beyond Earthlings and that we will never catch up with their level of development. He was told that open contact would have to be made at some point in order to foil the evil designs of more negative beings from other parts of the universe that could dupe mankind and use us as a weapon against the friendlier races.

Magocsi believes these negative beings are manifested on Earth as the Men-In-Black, creatures he has encountered himself.

“Once I found a note,” he said. “It was a cutout from a newspaper about someone who published a book on UFOs and who disappeared. I found this cutout in my locked car – on the inside. I don’t know how the hell they got in to put it there, but I feel that was a hint. But I wouldn’t let myself worry about that.”

Meanwhile, the friendly creatures Magocsi met on his journey are governed by higher beings that aren’t flesh and blood but consist of energy and are spiritual in nature. When he asked about the existence of God, he was told that was a mystery that no one could answer because the cosmos is so vast. “Everyone has to find their own answer,” the aliens said. The experiences changed him, Magocsi said, making him more psychically aware and causing him to realize there is more to life than eating, sleeping and making merry.   

He related a conversation he had had with some spiritualists who maintained that their source of inspiration was the spirit of someone’s deceased grandmother. When Magocsi demonstrated his own psychic abilities, they asked where his information was coming from.

“I said, ‘I haven’t got any bloody proof. But it’s not important. I just pick these things up.’”

  An amazing story? Indeed!

  But just because he published it in his work “The Authentic Book Of Ultra-Terrestrial Contact,” author Timothy Green Beckley says he doesn’t necessarily have to take Oscar’s account at face value. “It’s really one of the more elaborate contactee stories of recent vintage, but there is little we can do in lieu of a follow-up since Oscar passed away some time ago.”

Beckley says it sounds more like an out-of-body experience than an actual, physical trip onboard a flying saucer.

“I met the man face to face,” Beckley says, “and I can see no reason why he would have made up the whole thing as he never received any sort of financial gain or much in the way of notoriety either. He still has a following in some parts of the world, people who believe in him and want to keep his story alive.”

Mars: Man’s Ultimate Hope For Life In Our Solar System Part III

Upon considering the prospects of mankind as an imperfect and aggressive civilization facing the very real existence of extra solar life, I think the issue encompasses more than meets the eye. Our very own bloody history haunts us, it stalks our civilized intentions, and it taints our ability to effectively arrive at coexistence. Our attempts at galactic diplomacy may have already failed due the human weakness for power. Just as President Ike Eisenhower warned of the military industrial complex dictating our foreign policy so it seems we have followed suit in our attitude toward extraterrestrial life as well. When former US Representative Neil H. McElroy retired in May of 2010, he admitted that Ike had indeed met and negotiated with a civilization from another planet.

Eisenhower era White House official admits alien existence

However, there are two very different versions of the story. McElroy claims that these aliens from another world presented no threat to us or ever will, while others state that Eisenhower negotiated out of disadvantage knowing that the Germans prior to World War II had had the same opportunity and had taken power and weaponry over peaceful coexistence with other nations. The unprecedented technological developments of the Germans seem to indicate this premise. So, in view of the Soviet threat, they say Eisenhower was compelled to do the same as the Germans did. Does this sound farfetched or beyond reason? I don't think so given our well justified mistrust for one another on this violent planet of hatred, starvation, and oppressive government. That being said, how does this shape our policy toward Mars or any other alien world?

1947 becomes the beginning of a new awareness for mankind

Throughout the "Age of Uncertainty" since the UFO enigma became prominent after 1947, we have been forced to view ourselves as a civilization in a very different way. We have been forced to evaluate our violent past and to even expect no better or worse from any other civilization when considering our actions toward an alien life form that we might encounter. How do we know that we could possibly encounter such a scenario? Well, we have been advertising our presence ever since at least 1935 when the German government began commercial television broadcasting and, no doubt, audio visual Nazi propaganda. These transmissions would go out into space. However, the most dramatic announcement of our arrival as a technical civilization would have to have been the detonation of nuclear devices from experiments to the bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Nuclear testing, both atmospheric and underground would continue for decades afterward.

Is it any surprise that since 1947 or even earlier that the governments of the world have engaged in secrecy and denial when addressing the UFO issue? Pilots have been told to remain silent. Citizens have been afraid to come forth until recently. TV broadcasters have actually participated in government sanctioned ridicule of the subject. Actual sightings have been repudiated by US armed service policy. 60 years of counter intelligence, intimidation, and secrecy have brought us to a very warped mindset when considering who we really are, what do we bring to the table, and why would any alien civilization want anything to do with us? The other major consideration as voiced by imminent astrophysicist Steven Hawking’s has been that our society would collapse once faced with superior technology that trumps our dearly held beliefs, or even worse, the aliens behave just as we have with primitive societies here on earth! We suffer the very fate we have imposed upon those weaker than ourselves even though we have inadvertently advertised our existence, our location, and our weaknesses for decades now.

Military warnngs over extraterrestrial hostility

It doesn't help that our very own great generals of the US and Great Britain alone have expressed worry that an extraterrestrial confrontation might be the very next great conflict that would unite humanity in a common struggle, according to General Douglas MacArthur and Ronald Reagan. Even more compelling are the comments from military leaders that the actions of UFO's time and again seem intent upon a global surveillance, testing our capabilities to defend ourselves. So, can we realistically expect anything different from our celestial counterparts?

On the question of Mars and whether or not life may exist on a primitive scale, whether it was more advanced than we are now but for some catastrophe that caused Martian extinction, or whether or not something even more sinister is going on, I have this to say.

Compelling photgraphic evidence

There are a number of very compelling photographs taken by JPL satellites that have mapped, landed, and surveyed the Martian world that seem to indicate a cosmic cover-up. One of the first findings by the Mariner flyby missions was that the Martian surface was not only pockmarked by craters, had a thin atmosphere with low pressure, little if any detectable water, and volcanic activity. It seemed that the "Red Planet" was a dead planet.

Yet, beginning with the Mariner and Viking missions, signs of life began to emerge. Subsequent JPL (Jet Propulsion Laboratories) of NASA has initiated multiple programs, and maybe not all of the programs. Perhaps there are secret programs, black programs, that are just as hidden as Area 51, DUMB (Deep Underground Military Bases) and the events at Dulce, New Mexico which some have described as frightening and highly classified at the very least. \\

New Mars exploration missions uncovering important evidence

Such known JPL Martian missions as Mars Global Surveyor, Mars Pathfinder, Phoenix, Spirit and Opportunity Rovers (100,000 photos taken), Mars Odyssey, Mars Express, Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter, and Mars Science Laboratory have successfully arrived at and performed their intended objectives. Between these satellite probes weather, soil samples, geologic data, search for water, topographical mapping, and many other prerogatives are being pursued. Just one question. Why is there not a further quest for underground life, life that is not necessarily carbon based a search for archeological artifacts from past perhaps extinct civilizations? It seems to me that either we have arrogantly overlooked these capacities or have intentionally ignored them because of something that remains disturbingly hidden.

One planetary researcher reported that a detected geyser of gasses several miles above the Martian surface was found streaming from an opening in the Martian surface, but it was not volcanic in nature! He believed it was from an industrial source! What can we deduce from that? That there is underground activity beneath the surface of Mars?

An entity found on the surface?

January 2008 an intriguing photo from the Mars Rover "Spirit" reveals a figure apparently walking along a ridge of grayish rock jutting out from the reddish sands. Another figure which seemed to have fallen horizontally lay a short distance below. The walking figure seems perhaps to be sculpted like a statue maybe as is the prone form that lies just a few feet away, appearing like a child. The upright figure seems feminine with visibly long hair draped around the face, wearing a flowing robe. It is a truly arresting photo that enthusiasts spent 4 years enlarging from the original NASA image file. Could this be a contorted piece of rock? Upon examination it is hard to dismiss as just an outcropping of rock.

In 2006 one analyzed photo shows what appears to be a fossilized carbon life form on a boulder, a circular moss-like plant large enough to be clearly seen. Other very porous rocks appear like tumbleweeds on a jagged slope. This would point to the existence of a significant life supporting atmosphere.

Another NASA photo reveals what appear to be a couple of carved blocks of a greenish volcanic variety of rock lying in much different colored surroundings. Elsewhere are carved looking pieces of smaller rocks resembling arrowheads or tools that have been eroded but still recognizable. Many of these artifacts appear as ancient evidence of a cataclysm of immense proportions, perhaps destruction from an asteroid strike eons ago.

Structures found on Mars landscape

In one particular piece of footage taken by one of the Mars Rovers, what appears to be a building constructed of stone that has been broken by a great force is evident in the dusty landscape. Somewhat like viewing ancient Roman or Greek ruins, these structures speak to the observer from long ago of some terrible destruction that wreaked havoc over the surface of the planet, shattering everything on the topography of the Martian terrain.

A reality stranger than fiction

In Ray Bradbury's "Martian Chronicles" he describes the last survivors of a dying race that witness the first human explorers. As time goes on and new earth space missions follow their predecessors, only spirits or Martians that have evolved beyond physical form are left to greet the pioneers from another planet. The new arrivals realize that they have now become the latest incarnation of the Martians guided by the ancient spirits of a now extinct race. Soon we will fulfill that destiny, transforming fiction into reality on the Red planet.

Hail, Hail, The Gang's All Here! - Remembering The Trickster of UFOlogy, Jim Moseley

The "old guard" of UFOlogy is quickly passing away before our very eyes. First there was John Keel, then Richard Hall, Ingo Swann, George Fawcett and most recently a man who remained for many years one of the most controversial and influential figures in all of UFO-dom, a personality who many loved and others equally despised.

When James W. Moseley passed away on November 16, 2012, at a hospital in Key West, Florida, he left behind a great many friends to mourn him. Though his name may be unfamiliar to the younger members of the UFO community today, he was for many years a most provocative voice in the field of UFOlogy, known for being a comic trickster as well as a serious researcher of flying saucer and paranormal phenomena who broke new ground in coverage of the subjects with his publications "Saucer News" and "Saucer Smear."

In memory of his departed friend, Timothy Green Beckley of Global Communications has recently published "The Astounding UFO Secrets of James W. Moseley, A Special Tribute To The Editor Of ‘Saucer Smear’ And The Court Jester Of UFOlogy." The book includes the full text of "UFO Crash Secrets At Wright-Patterson Air Force Base," a first-person account by Moseley of his investigations into numerous UFO-related incidents that also highlights his feisty attitude toward his fellow researchers and their continual disagreements over what to believe in a field where concrete evidence is almost impossible to find.

But Beckley, who is listed as the editor on the cover of the tribute book, begins things with a series of memories from those who knew and admired Moseley, all of whom have their own unique stories to tell about the jokester and his long history in UFOlogy. Beckley’s lifelong relationship with Moseley began in the early to mid-1960s when Beckley was still in his teens and an avid listener to the all night radio talk show hosted by Long John Nebel. Nebel often covered UFOs and other strange subjects, and Moseley was a frequent guest on the program. Moseley used the show to promote his monthly UFO meetings in the rather seamy Times Square area of Manhattan, and Beckley was a regular attendee. Beckley was so young at the time that he needed his brother-in-law to accompany him in the journey from New Jersey to the Port Authority in New York and on to the meetings.

"Little by little," Beckley says, "I got to know Jim very well. He was pretty gracious about sharing his information and data with people who were serious about the subject, and that included me."

Beckley had already started his own publication, called "The Interplanetary News Service Report," which grew to have a circulation of around 1,500. Moseley bought Beckley out and absorbed his readers into Moseley’s own "Saucer News," which would reach a circulation of around 12,000 subscribers. Moseley also hired Beckley to serve as managing editor of "Saucer News," and their business-inspired relationship/partnership began in earnest.

In 1967, Moseley and Beckley shared a memorable adventure together. There had been a UFO flap along the East Coast that included frequent sightings of humanoid occupants and other creatures. An assistant editor at "Saucer News," Jack Robinson, spoke with a group of teenagers who had recently had a sighting which involved creatures in New Jersey where he, himself, lived. As he spoke to the teenage boys, Robinson saw a black car parked across the street, the kind of car the infamous Men-In-Black are known to drive around in while attempting to silence UFO witnesses.

Soon after, Robinson began to complain of problems with his phone and said his files were broken into. His wife, Mary, said that whenever she left in the morning to run her daily errands, she would see an individual dressed in black standing in the entranceway to a building a couple of doors down from the couple’s apartment and observing everyone who came and went. Mary called Moseley and Beckley several times and was clearly perturbed by the stranger’s presence, fearing either a prankster or someone intending Jack and her real harm.

Not knowing whether to believe her or not, Moseley and Beckley decided to see for themselves. They left early one morning and took the Lincoln Tunnel over to Jersey City and the Robinsons’ apartment. When they arrived, sure enough, there was a black car parked at the curb, and someone was lurking in the doorway that fit the general description of a Man-In-Black. The pair decided to circle the block and find a parking place, intending to confront whoever this was standing there. After going around the block, they had no luck in finding a place to park, but Moseley handed his young protégé a camera and Beckley took photos of the car and one of the black-clad stranger in the doorway. Again, they circled the block looking for a parking place, and when they got back, the gentleman and the car were gone.

"I always told Jim," Beckley said, "that I think this is the only case where UFO investigators actually scared off the Men-In-Black instead of the Men-In-Black scaring off the UFO investigators. He got a chuckle from that. Of course, I’ve told this story over the years and I’ve published the photographs and been on the television program ‘UFO Hunters’ to discuss this. Now Jim, being his usual skeptical self, said he was not certain that this was an actual Man-In-Black. He thought perhaps it might be a pall bearer, but there was no funeral home around there. Then he figured it might have been a member of the mob or a gangster or something. Well, that’s not even plausible. What would he be doing out there at that time of the morning? So I’ve always believed there was a good possibility that in fact he was some sort of Man-In-Black, a UFO Silencer, whatever you want to call it."

Beckley says that Moseley was often skeptical about many things in UFOlogy, or "Ufoology," as Moseley quipped. Moseley published a special expose issue of "Saucer News" in which he called the famous contactee George Adamski a fraud, risking the ire of Adamski’s many followers.

Moseley was rumored by some to be a member of the Silence Group or even the CIA because he didn’t appear to have a regular job or visible means of supporting himself. The thing was, Beckley said, Moseley had inherited quite a bit of money when he turned 21, from stocks his family had owned in the Barber Steamship line. Moseley certainly went through the money over the course of his life, and was never really what one would call wealthy, but the idea that he was getting a regular paycheck from the CIA was clearly preposterous.

Beckley’s chapter in "The Astounding UFO Secrets Of James W. Moseley" continues with other anecdotes on Moseley, including a hoax Moseley cooked up with the late UFO researcher Gray Barker that again targeted contactee George Adamski and was intended for the pair’s amusement. Meanwhile, there was also an incident involving a UFO witness, a large public party in a New Jersey park, and the late alien abduction researcher Budd Hopkins, who remained furious at Moseley for the rest of his life. But maybe those stories are better saved for readers of the book.

Another old friend of Moseley’s who contributes a tribute chapter to the book is Antonio Huneeus, a longtime veteran of UFO and paranormal journalism now associated with the prestigious "Open Minds" magazine. Huneeus opens his chapter with learning the news of his friend’s death just after returning from a two-week trip to Chile.

"Fortunately," Huneeus writes, "I spoke on the phone with Jim right before my trip; he was alert and interested in all sorts of UFOlogical gossip, even as he was getting ready to go to the hospital for a complicated cancer surgery."

The memory of that final parting phone call is still a comfort to Huneeus, who also provided some biographical background on Moseley.

"Jim Moseley was born in 1931," Huneeus writes, "the third son of Major General George Van Horn Moseley, who was a prominent U.S. Army officer but also a notorious right wing and anti-Semitic figure during the FDR era. Jim didn’t get along with his father and so became a rebel, quitting Princeton University after a couple of years and pursuing a number of independent activities, which included real estate deals, antiquarian pursuits in South America and of course UFOlogy.

"Until the last few years," Huneeus continues, "when his age and health slowed him down, Jim was a permanent fixture at all major UFO conferences. You could always find him at the bar drinking martinis and collecting gossip, which would then appear in his longstanding newsletter, ‘Saucer Smear.’ This was the only American UFO publication devoted not to UFO cases per se but to the discussion of the personalities of UFOlogists. It was technically ‘non-scheduled’ and free, although Jim was glad to receive donations, which he called ‘love offerings.’ In the last few years it became his main intellectual activity since he always had a lot of fun editing it and making fun of people."

According to Huneeus, Moseley was often thought to be a skeptic by other UFOlogists because he didn’t buy into some of the more popular beliefs in the field, like the Roswell Incident and the abduction cases researched by Budd Hopkins and some others. But Moseley poked just as much fun at the debunkers – like the late Philip Klass and the magician James the Amazing Randi – and was critical and sarcastic regarding just about everything and everybody in UFOlogy.

In the new book on Moseley, George P. Hansen contributes a chapter comparing the court jester of UFOlogy to the Trickster entities who appear throughout the folklore of nearly every culture ancient and modern and that are often compared to the shifting realities experienced during UFO encounters.

Tim Brigham, a longtime friend of Moseley, writes fondly, "Jim was the first person I met who maintained a non-dogmatic yet genuinely curious view of this strange UFO enigma, and thus I was immediately drawn to him. Perhaps just as amazing to me at the time, Jim was BOLD about it. He said and wrote what he thought, with no fear of giving his opinion on a topic or person if asked, and even if not! Jim didn’t know all the answers and he was not afraid to tell you that neither did anyone else. He could laugh with anyone over a drink, whether he thought they were genuine or, as he often did, thought they were full of s***. As many can attest, Jim was also an amazing story teller and he had many stories to tell. He knew all the original guys; he mentioned names like Hynek and Adamski as if they were sitting in the room next door."

Phyllis Galde, the editor of "FATE Magazine," also has pleasant recollections of Moseley. In a chapter called "Jim Moseley, The Lucid Partier," she recalls making a visit to Moseley’s apartment in Key West, Florida, sharing a scotch and water with the elder statesman of UFOlogy as he chain-smoked and held court. Galde also met Moseley at the National UFO Conference in Hollywood in 2005, where he was a speaker.

"I had to smile to myself," Galde writes, "because all weekend it looked like he had the same light blue shirt on, same sport jacket, and the back of the shirt was always hanging out over his pants. Even though he was partying, his talk was coherent and lucid. Most impressive, even if you don’t agree with his conclusions. He had a fine mind, a great wit, and we will miss him. I am sure he will find out the Truth in the spirit world."

It should be pointed out that Moseley had a second career as a "grave robber," or dealer in South American antiquities.

Antonio Huneeus writes in his chapter: "We had a common interest in all things South American as one of Jim’s most cherished periods was the few years in the late 1950s when he went back and forth to Peru and to a lesser extent Ecuador and northern Chile, purchasing and digging up pre-Columbian antiquities. Moseley was unabashed about his grave-robbing activities, his adventurous days as a huaquero (from the Quecha word ‘huaco,’ for pottery found frequently in tombs) as they are called in the Andean countries."

The black market antiquities trade is now strictly enforced in South America, according to Huneeus, but at the time Moseley was able to avoid legal prosecution by bribing the Peruvian ambassador to the United Nations. Beckley recalls that as he understood it, it was illegal to rob the graves in order to obtain the loot, but once it was in hand, it was legal to bring it into the U.S. The grave robbing never made Moseley wealthy, but it did provide some great stories along with some supplemental cash. Huneeus’ chapter includes a photo of Moseley leading a donkey through Peru in what has come to be called his "Indiana Jones period."

Additionally, while in Peru, Moseley was the first investigator to gain access to the Nazca Lines, realizing that the mysterious lines could best be seen not from the ground but from an aerial view, thus beating out Van Daniken and others by a decade or more.

When Moseley moved from New Jersey to Key West, sometime in the 1980s, he opened a pre-Columbian art gallery with whatever items remained unsold. The collection was eventually donated to a museum of archeology and natural history in Dante, Florida, near Fort Lauderdale. Moseley’s dealing in antiquities provides the subtitle for the book he coauthored with Karl T. Pflock, called "Shockingly Close To The Truth! Confessions Of A Grave-Robbing UFOlogist," which was published in 2002.

All of this serves as prologue to Beckley’s reprinting of Moseley’s book "UFO Crash Secrets At Wright-Patterson Air Force Base," in which one can read Moseley’s first-person account of his many adventures in search of the truth of the UFO phenomenon, whether that truth involved a military cover-up or run-ins with his friend and fellow jokester the late Gray Barker, who is another legendary name of the early years of UFOlogy. The complete package offered by Beckley with "The Astounding UFO Secrets Of James W. Moseley," which combines heartfelt personal tributes and the complete text of one of Moseley’s books, is a must-have for your UFO book collection. It is both a sad but smiling farewell to a true legend, the man some have called "the Hunter S. Thompson of UFOlogy," and a vital document of what the study of flying saucers was like in the beginning among its most early practitioners/jokesters, who never hesitated to add a dose of laughter to their sober assessments of the phenomenon.

Man who spent five days aboard a UFO will come to Brazil

Thousands of people around the world has been confronted with extraterrestrial beings, whether in friendly contacts, either in abductions. The American Travis Walton is one of those individuals.
