VIDEO: Is this a UFO in Banbury?

Published on Wed Sep 05 15:40:35 BST 2007

SEVERAL sightings of potential UFO activity in the skies above Banbury have been independently reported this week.

A total of seven people contacted the Banbury Guardian claiming to have seen anywhere between two and 15 "bright orange lights" moving in formation at about 10.30pm on Saturday.

The sources all say the lights were travelling from west to east without making any noise.

Among the witnesses was Mark Arthur, who filmed the lights on his mobile phone as he walked along Banbury canal towards Bridge Street at about 10.30pm.

The 36-year-old, who works as a support assistant at Cherwell Valley College, called the phenomenon "bizarre".

"None of the lights flickered or wavered in their flight path or anything," he said.

"They were all travelling in the same direction, at the same speed with no variation and no sound – you just had this feeling that it was bizarre and unidentifiable."

Please note: The moving light is extremely small against a dark background. To see it, it may be necessary to increase the video image to full screen. You can do this by right clicking your mouse and selecting 'zoom, full screen'.

It is also recommended you activate sound on your PC to hear the descriptions of the lights as they were viewed.

Two Banbury Guardian readers have suggested the lights could be Chinese Flying Lanterns. Click here to see what one looks like.
