WORLD'S LARGEST UFO CULT TO ESTABLISH EMBASSY IN CAMBODIA

People are not [ready] yet, but we will keep trying to spread the message,” said Am Vichet, the head of the Cambodian chapter of the Raelian Movement, which believes a group of scientists created life 25,000 years ago in a laboratory.

Click here to enlarge top photo.

The 41-year-old, who works at reproductive health NGO Marie Stopes, said he became a Raelian in 2007 after attending a lecture where the cult’s philosophy was explained.

I want to learn new things. Then, at that time, I joined a lecture and they showed me a video and I thought it was interesting. But it was not enough just to go one time; I wanted to learn more,” Am Vichet said.

His next step was to read a book penned by the group’s leader, Frenchman Claude Vorilhon, now known by his acolytes only as Rael” and who founded the cult in 1974. He claims to be a reincarnation of Buddha.

Vorilhon, then a journalist for a car magazine and test driver for his own car-racing magazine, says that, on Dec 13, 1973, he took a detour on his way to work and wandered around an inactive volcano near Auvergne in France.

There, he met an extraterrestrial called Yahweh Elohim, who explained the message”. It was simple: life on Earth is the scientifically engineered creation of an advanced alien civilisation, and Vorilhon’s mission on this planet is to prepare humankind for their eventual return.

One of the main goals of Raelism is to build a US$20 million (651 million baht) embassy for the Elohim, preferably in Israel. Perhaps due to Raelism’s symbol — a swastika enveloped in a Star of David — the movement is banned there.

So Raelians are looking eastward and, last January, applied to the Council of Ministers in a letter addressed to Prime Minister Hun Sen.

The project, which the letter states will generate several billion euros of revenue, as well as additional spin-off ventures”, will make Cambodians the first [people] to benefit from the Elohim’s highly advanced technologies”.

But more than a year after the application was submitted, Rael has yet to receive a response from Phnom Penh.

Ek Tha, a spokesman for the Council of Ministers, said that although he was not aware of the application, he would welcome an extraterrestrial movement in Cambodia.

I myself have researched UFOs and extraterrestrial life for the past two years,” he said.

To me, it would be great if we can start an alien movement or institution in Cambodia. We are not alone, my friend. When I tell my friends at work, nobody believes me.”

But any attempt to build the embassy may come up against practical obstacles, according to Dan Thibault, a French-Canadian who travels across Asia spreading Rael’s teachings and was in Phnom Penh this month to hold a public lecture.

ldquo; The problem is political … the problem is the extra-territoriality, the airspace. We need a protected airspace, like a no-fly zone over the embassy,” Mr Thibault said. The country that will organise the embassy will be the spiritual and cultural centre of the union to come. It’s a really big thing.”

Am Vichet explained how he began to accept the Raelians’ ideas after he read Vorilhon’s first book, The Book Which Tells the Truth, which Am Vichet recently translated into Khmer.

I started thinking what our natural state was, and one day you can see these things in the sky, and then I thought, ‘Oh, it’s true.’ And then that night I saw the lights again and after that I started to become a Raelian,” Am Vichet said. My life changed.”

The movement claims to be expanding in Asia, boosted by growing followings in China and Japan. Three Cambodians turned up to a recent meeting, at which Mr Thibault delved further into Raelian philosophy.

Life has been created 25,000 years ago. The Elohim came here, they were a group of scientists who had mastered DNA, and they created all forms of life on this planet,” he said.

They sent all the gods — Buddha, Jesus, Mohammed, Moses — all the prophets sent throughout history. We live in the scientific era and at this time we can create life significantly in laboratories, which means we are equal to gods.”

Straddling the Worlds: The Paranormality of Being Normal

The same is true for dreams and visions. We tend to only recall those dream and visionary events that are the most vivid and spectacular. However, paying attention to seemingly insignificant dream symbols could prove beneficial. Indeed, who can claim with certainty that only waking reality defines one's complete history?

While juggling sequential and non-sequential events (for example waking, trance and dreams), there will always exist the possibility for experiencing expansive reality 'bleed-throughs’. When fully experiencing the MOMENT, these can manifest as dreams and visions. As it is ego’s primary role to keep us focused solely in linear time, however, it will usually try to discourage such non-linear intrusions. When these 'bleed-throughs’ occur, you may want to allow yourself to set aside a special time to integrate them through meditation, journaling or visualizations. These activities can reinforce the new information and hopefully assist you in your life.

In the Ramayana, Blue Boy explained to King Indra that out of the God Vishnu’s navel a beautiful lotus grows. Sitting upon this lotus is Brahma, the Creator. Hindu beliefs say that each time this god opens his eyes another and yet another universe is born.

The quantum aspect of personal reality is that we each represent a specific grouping of atoms that will simultaneously duplicate itself with variations. Naturally, that means infinite self-aspects to choose from. The thoughts, words and emotions you project (as they are actual extensions of you), will reinforce or negate your original atomic structure. This naturally has implications for the evolutions of the multidimensional self; that it is in fact we who, when awakening to a new day, create a new universe. The following quote (from one of my books) is a metaphorical example of how parallel realities 'live on' and can, if one wishes, be imported to become part of one's waking 'history':

“Kuan Yin is sitting on a flower. Maybe it’s a lotus. I’m not sure. It’s interesting how as you were counting me down, Hope, I was there on the flower with Kuan Yin. It had a huge stem and with every number of the countdown, the stem grew a little more. It was like Jack in the Beanstalk. I’m not certain of the significance of that,” Lena had reflected.

“There is a wiry texture covering the stem. We, Kuan Yin and I, are teetering on the top of this flower or tree and looking down. I don’t know whether this symbolizes anything. We’re both lighthearted. Maybe the flower in the sky is reflective of my mood. I’m on vacation in my real life. My work is behind me, for now. I think both Kuan Yin and I are more relaxed and playful.

Kuan Yin looks very traditional. Her hands are folded together. The thick cloth of her costume is folded perfectly. Just as in the previous session, I’m reminded of the significance of the folds [worlds are created within them]. I’m having an interesting vision that I haven’t thought about in many years. I see a beautiful tree where I used to go when I was a teenager. It stands majestic, atop the rolling hills behind the house where I grew up.

When I was lonely and sad about my life, I used to go there. I had my black light and my Moody Blues tape and I would go sit near the tree to listen to my music. Kuan Yin is at the tree looking very luminous. I see the bark of the tree, which looks very real, very three-dimensional. For some reason, Kuan Yin is touching the trunk of the tree.
She suddenly seems very small next to me and she wants me to touch the tree. I’m not sure why. There is a tiny bird, with pretty feathers in its nest. It is about the size of a wren. I see the texture of the tree. I think it might be a birch. I’m not sure. ’Why should I touch the tree,’ I ask. She’s telling me that I created the tree, that it is another realm I was able to visit because life was too painful and lonely at home.”

“You created the tree. You create your whole world with thoughts,” assures Kuan Yin.

In my own life, recently dozing off to sleep one evening, I was aware, for a split second, of being caught between at least two parallel worlds. While repositioning my physical legs into a more comfortable position, I suddenly felt another pair of legs, not in this reality but nevertheless real, spontaneously reposition themselves.

For me, this brief event was undeniable proof that there is no particular sequence of events or consciousness in the universe. That is not to say there is no order in the universe. It means, however, that time does not determine when or where an event will occur.

In terms of human consciousness, it likely shows that someone has not one or two parallel selves to draw upon for more expansive qualities or history. Instead, there are potentially infinite selves to provide inspiration and possibilities.

However, the waking-self mainly focused in sequential time presents a special challenge to comprehending the expansive nature of consciousness. The instant one's ego perceives and contemplates, “Oh, I’m encountering another self,” it will immediately eclipse the new parallel experience. While one’s strong focus within this reality is absolutely necessary for existence, such a focus mostly inhibits the possibility for an identifiable parallel reality experience such as the one described above.

Now, you probably routinely experience yourself in dreams. You could perceive yourself as the observer, the main actor or even a supporting actor. You might even encounter a you whom is barely recognizable. Kuan Yin has stated: “It's a dream. Remember? You're living a dream. It's very complicated to hold the dream and live the dream. You are learning  the art of juggling the dream and the world of dreams. Nobody really gets hurt."

I have written about many personal occurrences that might be considered paranormal such as feeling an ancient and sticky third eye suddenly open after some prolonged dormancy. Yet, what truly is paranormal? For me it is absolute proof of the nature of the multidimensional self; what I regard as a perfectly ‘normal’ state of being.

Worlds Above and Below: How A Secret Civilization Broke Away From Our Own

Home » Lecture » Worlds Above and Below: How A Secret Civilization Broke Away From Our Own One thing that a study of the UFO makes abundantly clear: someone is operating technology that is not supposed to exist, and yet it does. Silent craft, for example, that can instantly accelerate, many of which are said to be of non-human origin, but others which are argued to be of classified manufacture. Is there a clandestine infrastructure that has made significant breakthroughs, but which has kept them secret from the rest of us? Richard Dolan answers in the affirmative. He argues that the UFO phenomenon is infinitely more complex than many have previously suggested, and that human and non-human groups are behind what we call UFOs. Within the human, classified part, breakthroughs have leap-frogged over each other to produce a society with substantially more advanced scientific, technological, and cosmological ideas -- a society that can accurately be called a "breakaway civilization." This covert civilization has continued to interact with our own "official" society, but at the same time appears to have interactions or encounters with one or more of the non-human groups that are here on Planet Earth. The result is a clandestine cold war, very possibly with multiple human and non-human factions.

The Many Worlds And Other Dimensions Of Oscar Magocsi, UFO Contactee Extraordinaire - Part II

The monks began to chant and burn incense while they scrutinized Magocsi. He fell asleep, and when he awakened he saw the head monk, an old man, seated opposite him.

“And as I was looking at him,” Magocsi said, “he was rising up from his chair – levitating. Then the whole area just opened up so that I could see the whole valley and the saucer hovering nearby, with its orange glow.”

AROUND THE WORLD IN 23 HOURS

Magocsi next recalled that he was standing with the head monk again on a balcony or terrace in extreme cold. After this dreamlike moment, he was escorted back to the saucer, which lifted up and flew him this time to South America, where it seemed someone was shooting green lightning bolts at the ship. From there, the next destination was Northern California, specifically a place Magocsi thought must have been Mount Shasta. He could see three campfires below him, with men seated around the campfires, soon after which the ship discharged some form of energy into the mountain’s peak. Mount Shasta has for centuries been known as the scene of many a UFO sighting and numerous other paranormal events, so it is a fitting place for Magocsi to end his trip around the world onboard a flying saucer.

If you missed Part One of the article - click here!

After leaving Mount Shasta, Magocsi was returned to the same spot where he was originally picked up.

“The entire experience lasted 23 hours,” he said. “Insofar as being tired from the trip is concerned, I was. And insofar as the food, I found a cubicle which I managed to open and found storage-cubes, condensed food. And I found water. That was my first trip. I was happy after that. So, a few days later, the saucer comes again to the same spot and lands, and I got into it and went on another trip.”

This time, the trip would not be a journey around the physical planet as know it. Magocsi called this second trip an “inter-dimensional” one, though he was still required to put on a silvery “spacesuit,” similar to a skin diver’s outfit, with a wide belt and something resembling a motorcycle helmet. The ship hovered for a short time over Lake Ontario then suddenly Magocsi was in deep space, which he also felt was in another parallel dimension. He still had not met anyone onboard the craft.

He recalled being told by someone he had met at the Psychic Fair the previous winter that, “They are from another dimension altogether. They accidentally stumbled onto ours, and there are quite a number of other dimensions that are interconnected.” The person at the fair claimed to be a “psychician” and a member of the Psychician Federation of Worlds.

Examining possible UFO landing area

After fading back into Earth’s dimension, the ship entered a vortex and came to a place where a mother ship sat waiting with seven smaller ships nearby, which Magocsi called “baby ships.” A door opened and he walked out into an idyllic scene similar to a rock garden or pleasant jungle area, a space intended for recreation. He surmised that there were other people there who had also been brought by one of the other smaller ships, and that they were supposed to “seek each other out.”

Magocsi found himself on a planet called Argona, a member of the Psychician Federation of Worlds. He came to a reception area where he met human-looking people, including the cab driver who had taken him to the Psychic Fair instead of to the movies, as Magocsi had intended. The cab driver became Magocsi’s host, taking him on a tour of the city and the surrounding countryside.

The city was built inside a domed area and had structures similar to earthly skyscrapers. The entire planet was a recreation center and was populated by thousands of people of varying skin colors and wearing different style clothes. Some of them facially resembled a cat or dog and spoke a language similar to a Chinese kind of singsong.

People from various dimensions were there on a common mission: to be trained in Earth mannerisms, languages and cultures so they could go to Earth and carry out some purpose that required them to pass for normal human beings.

“They had common names like George or Joe,” Magocsi said, “and were said to be from Japan or China. One woman said she was from New York City, but in reality she had never even been to Earth before. Before she was set to come to Earth, she knew already all the mannerisms, even played the piano.

“It’s not very likely that any of these people would ever be detected,” he continued, “except by psychic means. But they looked much nicer, more handsome than we are. They looked more intelligent. There were subtle things about them. Small things. It’s very likely that this girl I met there, who knew New York – she called herself Melody – she could be here right now. She was a gorgeous looking redhead. And she sings.”

THEIR REASON FOR BEING HERE

Magocsi said the influx of human-looking aliens is intended to help us overcome the psychic contamination of our atmosphere, a contamination that could lead to nuclear war and the complete destruction of life on Earth.

“It seems they are greatly concerned,” he said. “They wouldn’t stop us from wiping ourselves out. That’s a no-no. If we want to blow ourselves up, that’s fine. But should that happen, they are willing to rescue quite a few people from here. Selections will be done through aura. They have aura detectors. They’re interested in what kind of an attitude you have socially, spiritually, psychically.”

The lucky chosen ones would be taken on “space arks” to an artificial planet already prepared to house the survivors. Magocsi has no idea how many would be saved, but that an effort to educate some portion of the world to the situation has been underway for a long time. He feels he was chosen by the aliens because they were seeking an “Average Joe,” a typical human specimen, in order to test how he feels about things, how he reacts to various situations.

After undergoing intensive testing on Argona, Magocsi concluded that the aliens are advanced millions of years beyond Earthlings and that we will never catch up with their level of development. He was told that open contact would have to be made at some point in order to foil the evil designs of more negative beings from other parts of the universe that could dupe mankind and use us as a weapon against the friendlier races.

Magocsi believes these negative beings are manifested on Earth as the Men-In-Black, creatures he has encountered himself.

“Once I found a note,” he said. “It was a cutout from a newspaper about someone who published a book on UFOs and who disappeared. I found this cutout in my locked car – on the inside. I don’t know how the hell they got in to put it there, but I feel that was a hint. But I wouldn’t let myself worry about that.”

Meanwhile, the friendly creatures Magocsi met on his journey are governed by higher beings that aren’t flesh and blood but consist of energy and are spiritual in nature. When he asked about the existence of God, he was told that was a mystery that no one could answer because the cosmos is so vast. “Everyone has to find their own answer,” the aliens said. The experiences changed him, Magocsi said, making him more psychically aware and causing him to realize there is more to life than eating, sleeping and making merry.

He related a conversation he had had with some spiritualists who maintained that their source of inspiration was the spirit of someone’s deceased grandmother. When Magocsi demonstrated his own psychic abilities, they asked where his information was coming from.

“I said, ‘I haven’t got any bloody proof. But it’s not important. I just pick these things up.’”

  An amazing story? Indeed!

But just because he published it in his work “The Authentic Book Of Ultra-Terrestrial Contact,” author Timothy Green Beckley says he doesn’t necessarily have to take Oscar’s account at face value. “It’s really one of the more elaborate contactee stories of recent vintage, but there is little we can do in lieu of a follow-up since Oscar passed away some time ago.”

Beckley says it sounds more like an out-of-body experience than an actual, physical trip onboard a flying saucer.

“I met the man face to face,” Beckley says, “and I can see no reason why he would have made up the whole thing as he never received any sort of financial gain or much in the way of notoriety either. He still has a following in some parts of the world, people who believe in him and want to keep his story alive.”

Life on Other Worlds Vs Only Life on Earth

Does life abundantly exist on other worlds, or does this precious commodity called life only reside on Earth?

The whole universe is so enormous no human being can actually wrap his tiny mind around the concept. If you can conceive of any measurement of uncountable gazillions of light-years across the expanse of this whole universe, or even infinity for that matter, then you must be a god, or at least a pretty smart person.

So, if life - that vibrant sentient slimy thing that oozes about - only thrives on this insignificant third stone from the bright gaseous ball we see in the sky every day, then all of existence is a very sad place. But there are actually people that believe this. Not just atheists, who claim life is a fluke of evolution, but there are certain fundamentalist Christians who think the existence of aliens would put a hole in the plan of salvation by Jesus Christ. This is a greater controversial subject than most people think. Because some people just don't think at all, but those that do think, or think things through, will either decide to be in one camp or the other. There's the No Life Out There At All Camp, then there's the Life Everywhere Camp. It's kind of like Pro-Life vs. Pro-Choice. Should we let the aliens throughout the universe live, or should we abort them all?

If we let them all live, then they can continue to secretly visit us, to spy on us, or eavesdrop on our business so they can report back to the mother ship, explaining that we brainless humans are on a nonsensical path of self-annihilation. To which they'll shrug their shoulders and move on. But if we abort the lot of them, then we'll be all alone in the whole universe.

John Michael Greer is a distinguished authority on UFO activities and research. In his book The UFO Phenomenon, he makes a clear case for life on other worlds. Let's see what he has to say about the matter at hand: "The idea that intelligent beings might inhabit other worlds, in fact, has been in circulation in the Western world for more than two-thousand years. Ancient Greek philosophers such as Democritus of Abdera (c.460-370 BCE) and Epicurus (341-270 BCE) argued that inhabited worlds existed all through an infinite cosmos." He says a little later, "and Etienne Templer, Bishop of Paris, ruled in 1277 that it counted as an article of Christian faith that God could make as many inhabited worlds as he wanted to."

So the possibility of alien life beyond Earth is not a new idea at all. Sadly, just because we believe something is so, doesn't make it so, contrary to the popular belief of certain churches that have millions of followers that might believe certain things, such as life only existing on Earth. They all believe it because their whole church believes it; therefore, it must be true. Even though certain members of the scientific community adhere to their own belief that aliens do exit on other worlds. Will we ever know who is right?

John Michael Greer goes on to say, "It became something close to an article of faith among educated people that so immense a universe could not have been created for the benefit of human beings alone. Though some writers, notably William Whewell (1794-1866), argued against the existence of extraterrestrial life on religious grounds, the consensus of the times stood against them."

Unfortunately, just because this group or that group or certain individuals proclaim a certain stand, doesn't make it true. It's merely an opinion. So we have to look to those who have actually sighted UFOs, or experienced abduction by aliens, or witnessed aliens in one way or the other. Sadly, the government gives such cases no credibility, and even Air Force pilots who have witnesses UFOs are silenced. But these instances give more credence then mere opinions. Although many UFO cases haven't been thoroughly reliable or credible, it's still obvious something extraordinary has been occurring on and around the Earth - or to be specific, something extraterrestrial.

It's true, we have had countless eyewitnesses, but likewise there have been mistaken and misidentified cases, fabricated cases, planted misinformation, hoaxes, tall tales, and essentially numerous undetermined cases. And the government is still endeavoring to keep us in the dark about the truth. The percentage of unreliable and uncertain cases is larger, this is true. The smaller percentage of reliable cases is still there, but the government still declares them as unreliable. But this percentage is still enough to suggest the UFO phenomenon is real.

Stanton Friedman, author of Flying Saucers and Science, puts it this way: "The evidence that planet Earth is being visited by intelligently controlled extraterrestrial spacecraft is overwhelming. In other words, some UFOs are ET spacecraft. Most are not -- I don't care about them."

The UFO debunkers depend on the higher percentages against UFOs, and they presume that the smaller percentage means that there's nothing going on. When we're looking for one single needle in a whole haystack, it only took that one needle to get us looking, not a million of them. Fortunately, there have been several thousands of needles in the haystack, even though millions of them have been false alarms. Not to mention the debunkers are looking in all the wrong places, because they don't want to know the truth. They would rather fabricate evidence and create disinformation for the public, only to confuse everyone and plant doubt in their minds.

We haven't solidly proven that UFOs or ETs exist - not to the whole public, at any rate. The numerous eyewitnesses scattered about the world know the truth, but they're given no credibility by the authorities. They're accused of being frauds in most cases. What we do have is millions of miscellaneous puzzle pieces, and many of them are missing, because they're being suppressed. So the puzzle can't be complete without all the pieces. But they're slowly coming together, and I believe that someday the truth will be obvious and will be shoved in our collective faces. I believe the truth is that life does thrive on countless other worlds besides Earth. The universe would be a very lonely place if this weren't so.

Otherworlds That Are Really Other Worlds Out Of This World!

A fairly common thread in mythology is someone coming across or visiting or being taken (kidnapped even) to some sort of magical land or place inhabited by exotic, even supernatural, beings, often god-like deities and/or often the Fairy-Folk types. However, upon return to their natural world, there's no apparent similarity between the interval of time that person thought they spent in that enchanted realm and the elapsed time between that person exiting their normal abode for enchantment-land and re-entering their natural world later on down the line. For every day or week or month that person spends in the land of enchantment, perhaps a year or more of their natural world time passes. For example, we have the mythological (or is it?) enchanted land of the Otherworld.

The 'Other World' (Slavic) or 'Otherworld' (Irish, Welsh and Celtic) in mythology tends to be a mysterious, enchanted, fabulously wealthy land, a land of fantastic pleasures, the land of (usually dispossessed*) gods, goddesses, and Fairy-Folk that is literally out of this world. It's sort of like the Promised Land that resides towards the west, located in the oceans or beyond the seas. Note it's the 'Otherworld', not the 'underworld' - two different concepts.

The Otherworlds (in general - they're quite a few of them) tend to be places of rebirth where the dead get resurrected back to the land of the living. Call those rising-from-the-dead, sort of like what Jesus Christ (an extraterrestrial 'god') did, though he's but one of many 'gods' with that talent according to mythology.

While fairies are known throughout the cultures and mythologies of the world, such as with the Maoris of New Zealand, they tend to be most associated with the Irish, Celtics and Welsh. Further, Fairy-Folk tend to be extremely long lived (quasi-immortal, like the mythological gods), maybe even really immortal (or as close to it as makes no odds) in their Otherworld, again depicted as a land of eternal youth.

The Celtic / Irish / Welsh Otherworld is kind of like the ancient Greek Elysium (or Elysian Fields), a land of paradise also situated just somewhere to the West, but without the bit about being dead, although apparently some get to Elysium without dying. Regardless, in Elysium you're granted immortality or become immortal, which is kind of like a rebirth, although death and rebirth were certainly Otherworld themes - part of the Otherworld environment.

My general or overall interpretation of the Otherworld(s) is that it's a high-tech, quasi-utopian planet in another (probably not too far away in astronomical interstellar terms) solar system, inhabited by quasi-immortal, shape-shifting beings we tend to call the modern UFO abduction era 'Greys' or the equivalent, the historical Fairy-Folk, perhaps even home to some of the more traditional 'gods' associated with our mythologies.

Relevant to the case history immediately below, it's worth noting that the Fairy-Folk (as well as the gods) have the ability to be seen only by those who they want to be seen by, just like the Norse Valkyries can only be seen by a Viking warrior about to die in battle before being escorted to (a sort of Norse Otherworld called) Valhalla. There the Viking warriors are resurrected and live to fight another day for the Norse gods like Odin in the coming final battle known as Ragnarok. This ability by Fairy-Folk and the gods and associated hangers-on to be visible to only those they wish to be visible to have a parallel in modern UFO abduction lore. Abductions can take place right under the nose of those who aren't participants. They see and hear nothing, though by all rights they should have. The abductees usually are made unaware of the experience - some sort of mental block - though such deliberate attempts at amnesia haven't been entirely successful, otherwise the UFO abduction phenomena or scenario wouldn't be such a major and ongoing topic.

Case History #1: An unseen woman (obviously a Fairy-Folk or 'goddess' of some sort) except to an Irishman called Conla, lures him away to the Otherword in a ship of glass, a crystal coracle, never to be seen again. Now a coracle is normally a small round boat composed of wickerwork or interwoven laths covered with skin or canvas - it's not made of glass or crystal! The 'boat' used by Conla in his voyage with the invisible woman to the Otherworld sounds a lot more like a shiny metallic round UFO IMHO.

Now people disappear all the time, and I'm sure that applied in our ancient past as well. A few (more probably back then than now) disappeared through some sort of natural mishap - being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Most people voluntarily disappear themselves be they criminals on the lam, people dropping out of society, children running away from home, parents running away from each other and their kids and family responsibilities, political refugees, etc. That accounts for probably 99.9% of people seemingly vanishing. But there is a residue, perhaps like Conla above, of people who do vanish under rather mysterious circumstances. In the UFO/abduction area, take for example the October 1978 case of Frederick Valentich, a young pilot flying a private plane on a short trip from Melbourne to King Island under ideal flying conditions. He and his plane vanished from sight while he was in radio contact with Melbourne flight controllers, reporting a UFO hovering over his plane. His transmission ceased at that point - go figure. But to this day, neither he nor his plane has ever been seen again.

Case History #2: The Scottish Thomas of Erceldoune, otherwise known as Thomas the Rhymer was escorted by the Queen of Elphame to fairyland (Otherworld) for an apparently brief period, but upon leaving found that seven years had passed.

Case History #3: An Irishman named Oisin had a bit of a fling with the fairy princess Niamh in the mythical Irish land of Tir na nOg (Land of Youth), the land of fairies and elves (Fairy-Folk), a land of eternal youth. It was a mystical place, an island (planet?) that lay beyond the edge of any known maps (outer space perhaps?). Oisin lived with Niamh in the Otherworld for three years, but when longing for, and finally returning home to old Mother Ireland, found that he had returned 300 years later - all his friends and family were dead, surviving himself long enough to relate his tale to Saint Patrick.

Now in any sort of modern context or interpretation, regarding those latter two case histories, that's nothing more than Einstein's Special Theory of Relativity's time dilation effect - the Twin Paradox. The closer you travel towards luminal (speed of light) velocities, the slower time (rate of change) ticks over for you relative to those you left behind who are not travelling at close to luminal velocities. Thus, when you return home, you've aged less relative to those who stayed at home.

To continue with modern parallels, I might broad-brush alien races here which may (or may not) be in cahoots or at least in some sort of association or alliance. We have the 'chosen few' and the 'victims', in modern terms called the 'Contactees' and the 'Abductees', and their associated extraterrestrials, which are...

The modern UFO abductees are associated with the UFO 'Greys' which in turn might be akin to the mythological Fairy-Folk (lumped collectively together), which might have an association with the Incubi/Succubi and related types prevalent in the Middle Ages.

In the TV show "Stargate: SG-1", the 'Greys' were shown to be the Asgard race, well the Norse. But that's okay for the real Norse too had their elves or Fairy-Folk - Their Muspelheim was the land of dark elves; Svartalfeim their world of (run-of-the-mill everyday) elves.

UFO abductions (via the 'Greys') have Fairy-Folk kidnapping parallels. And just as Fairy-Folk have been associated with the abduction of humans (like say to Otherworld), that applies ditto to the gods who could abduct you and take you 'upstairs' or 'downstairs'. You could also often be abducted for sexual purposes by the gods. Modern abductions (as in UFO abductions) have a common theme of sex. Sex with, unwilling human victims is nothing new, like in the Middle Ages.

In the past, like around the Middle Ages (though the track record goes all the way back to Mesopotamia around 2400 BC), you had similar tales with respect to the Incubi and Succubi - legend claims that demons both male and female sexually prey on human beings, generally during the night when the victim is sleeping. Incubus/human and Succubus/human couplings are sometimes said to be able to conceive children. The half-human offspring of such unions are sometimes referred to as a cambion. There are exact parallel tales of infant hybrids between humans and the 'Greys' of UFO abduction fame.

The modern (1950's) flying saucer Contactees are associated with the 'Nordics' otherwise call the 'Space Brothers' which might have an association with Jesus Christ like varieties of angelic-like 'gods'.

The question is, where stand the standard pantheons of the polytheistic gods or extraterrestrial 'gods' in this scenario? IMHO, somewhere in-between the angelic-like 'Nordics' as physically perfect specimens and the 'Greys' in terms of their personalities and actions, which can be rather callous and uncaring.

In conclusion, Otherworlds as other worlds, and out of this world, is a part of mythology that's relevant to all those interested in astrobiology, ancient astronauts and UFOs.

*Presumably by the rise of Christianity and monotheism forcing the polytheistic 'gods' to pack up their bags, exit stage left, and return home - to their Otherworlds.
